Well, Purdie was the name of our first gorgeous Gordon Setter & the name Oakley came about from a large Oak tree that Purdie enjoyed sitting under on hot summer day’s. Sadly, she is no longer with us but her name is still arround in the name of our business, Purdie Oak.

Purdie Oak was set up over 15 years ago by Peter & Christine Gainsley after careers in Sales & Marketing for major PLCcompanies over a 20 year period, trading with a number of concessions in major department stores and shopping villages for luggage, handbags, purses, and wallets in the North and Midlands. .
Now we have our own shop and 3 concessions in the North of England (details to be found on this website). We both are enjoying life in the retail environment and have a large pool of customers coming to the shop and have had lots of request from visitors to the store for a website.
We are specialists in small leather items, purses, wallets for men & women, luggage, handbags, and a major stockists of Edge Sculptures and other giftware brands. Only a limited amount will be online this year as this is a new and exciting part of expanding the business and we want to make sure we get it right!

Customer service and care is important to us and over the last 7 years since we have had the shop we have built a strong reputation within the local community in Clitheroe and serviced many customers from all parts of the UK, Europe (pending!), USA, Canada, Australia, and the far east visiting the area as tourists or visiting family in the UK.

Local Deliveries
Cannot carry the Cases or Edge Sculpture home? We do Local deliveries within a 25 mile radius free of charge, (we will deliver further a field and abroad but please phone/ e-mail for a quote for this service).
Loyalty Card
We have a loyalty card and save 10% off purchases if you join. Form can be found in store or on line.
Edge Club
Join our Edge club and spread the cost of your edge Sculpture over 3 months and get regular up- dates on the latest sculptures available in store.
